Madinah Group founded in 1948, has become one of the largest industrial groups in the country. It has the unique distinction of setting new trends, taking initiatives in the industrial sector by bringing in modern technologies and introducing best business practices.
The vision of Madinah Group has been to spend a part of the profit earned from business activities in the form of investment for various not-for-profit projects aimed at the social uplift and welfare of the people of Pakistan; particularly the underprivileged. For better planning, execution and administrative control of various industrial and welfare projects the Group, was bifurcated into two divisions. The Industrial projects are now administered by the ‘Madinah Group of Industries’ while the welfare and social projects are being run by the ‘Madinah Foundation’.
Madinah Foundation was established by Madinah Group in the spirit of serving the people of our society in the domains of education, health and social welfare. It is one of the leading non-profit organizations in the country and is approved under section 47(I) (d) of the Income Tax Ordinance 1979, Government of Pakistan.
Madinah Foundation is running various educational and welfare projects such as University of Faisalabad, Madinah Medical Complex, University Medical & Dental College Faisalabad, Madinah Teaching Hospital, University College for Women, University Cambridge School, Nursing Program, Free Medical Camps, Service Towards Religion, Relief For Earthquake Victims, Prisoner’s Welfare Program, Mass Marriages Program, Mass Nutrition Program, and Graveyard and Burial Services, for the welfare and social uplift of the people of the country.
THE UNIVERSITY OF FAISALABAD
The University of Faisalabad was established in October 2002 to cater the educational and technological needs of students. It was chartered by the Government of Punjab and is recognized by Higher Education Commissionas a degree awarding university. The University offers a diverse range of disciplines / courses leading to graduate and post graduate degrees in Medical, Engineering, Computer Sciences and, Business Administration. The University has been ranked second best in 2012 by HEC. This ranking was based on teaching quality, research and quality assurance system that the University of Faisalabad provides.
SCHOLARSHIPS: At the University of Faisalabad, deserving students of various degree programs are granted need based scholarships.
MADINAH MEDICAL CENTER
Located at Port Qasim, Karachi, Madinah Medical Complex was established to cater to the medical and health needs of population in and around the area. It is a General Hospital which offers free medical and dental health services to patients, regardless of their social and economic statuses. The complex is equipped with latest equipment and experienced staff. It also consists of an Eye Treatment Centre which offers treatment for any kind of eye disease.
UNIVERSITY MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGE FAISALABAD
The institute has provided medical and dental education to thousands of female students since its establishment. It provides state of the art medical technology required by the students to practice their theoretical knowledge. The University Medical and Dental College is the only Medical College in the Private Sector in Pakistan that has a complete teaching hospital that provides free medical and health services to the public at large.
University Medical and Dental College is affiliated with University of Health Sciences. The MBBS, BDS, Bachelor of Nursing, Pharm D, Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical), Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Textile) Programs are duly recognized and accredited by the respective national councils including Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Pakistan Nursing Council, Pakistan Engineering Council, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan etc. and approved by the Government of Pakistan. All other degree programs are accredited by the Higher Education Commission, Government of Pakistan.
MADINAH TEACHING HOSPITAL
The Madinah Teaching Hospital is a 650 bedded free General Hospital. It is a part of the University Medical and Dental College (UM&DC), Faisalabad and the School of Health Sciences. It is approved by PMDC and Pharmacy Council of Pakistan as teaching hospital for the MBBS, BDS, Pharm D, Physiotherapy and for running Nursing Programs. The various departments of the hospital are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment for diagnosis, treatment and teaching. The heads of each department are qualified, experienced and dedicated consultants and specialists. They are assisted by their teams of medical and para medical staff.
The Madinah Teaching Hospital facilitates students in the medical fields of Ophthalmology, Medicine, Surgery, E.N.T, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pathology, Urology, Radiology, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Physiotherapy and Dentistry. It is approved by the PMDC and Pharmacy Council of Pakistan as teaching hospital for the MBBS, BDS, Pharm D, Physiotherapy and Nursing Programs.
The various Departments of the Hospital are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment for diagnosis, treatment and teaching. All types of diagnosis, treatment, medicines, surgery and hospitalization are absolutely free of any charge. Approximately 2500 patients are provided free medical, dental and health services daily.
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
The institute is recognized by the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Faisalabad and registered with the District Education Office, Faisalabad. It provides two years Intermediate courses of Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, I-Com, ICS and FA to female students.
UNIVERSITY CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL
University Cambridge School offers cost effective, quality education from pre-primary to A levels. The school operates with the aim of developing ethical, compassionate, critical and disciplined individuals under the guidance of trained and professional teachers.
EDUCATIONAL RADIO CHANNEL: FM 96.6
Radio Channel, FM 96.6 was launched on October 9, 2014. It was inaugurated by Honorable Imam Bin Hussain Bin Ali Zain ul Abidin, Khadam Rozae-Rasool Madinatul Munawrah. Through the medium of FM 96.6, various programs concerning health, education, social welfare, recreation, religion and sports are broadcasted. Prominent scholars, professionals and academic staff of the university hold discussions on subjects relating to their fields of specializations in which students are also invited for participation.
Keeping in view the acute shortage of qualified nurses in Pakistan, the Foundation started diploma and bachelor degree programs for nurses under the School of Nursing in 2008. The program is duly approved and accredited by the Pakistan Nursing Council. Besides, we also pay a monthly stipend to the students and provide free accommodation facilities. The Foundation bears approximately Rs. 15,000 per month per student for training the nurses.
UNIVERSITY OF FAISALABAD, LAHORE CAMPUS
The commencement of the University of Faisalabad Lahore Campus, 9km Raiwind Road, Lahore will take place from this academic session. With some major disciplines such as medicine, engineering and business departments will be part of the university. All departments will be furnished with the state-of-the-art laboratories, technology equipment and resources.
A Medical College and Hospital built on many acres of land will also be a part of the University of Faisalabad, Lahore Campus. The various departments of this hospital, will be administered by professional doctors, surgeons and dentists. It will not only facilitate students but will also provide medical facilities to patients who cannot afford them.
FREE MEDICAL CAMPS
To provide medical and health services to people in remote areas or to patients who cannot travel long distances, the Madinah Foundation established Medical Camps in remote areas of the country. For advanced medical treatments and surgeries, patients at the camps are shifted to Madinah Teaching Hospital.
SERVICE TOWARDS RELIGION
Our sponsored program religious debate program, Quran-ul-Hakeem, is being telecast for one hour daily on PTV for the last 10 years. In addition to this, we have made the humble effort to construct several mosques in the country.
RELIEF FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
Since the last two decades Madinah Foundation has been working hard to provide relief and support to thousands of distressed people at the time of natural calamities such as earthquakes and floods. Services are provided to the people affected by national calamities in the form of medical camps, provision of food, shelters, construction/repair of houses, clothing, etc.
PRISONER’S WELFARE PROGRAM
Madinah Foundation provides relief to the inmates of jails all across Punjab by providing them with food, clean water, education facilities and psychological assistance. The Foundation also assists in getting prisoners released from the jails who have completed their terms of imprisonment but cannot afford to pay the fine imposed on them by the courts.
MASS MARRIAGES PROGRAM
The Mass Marriages Program is an initiative by the Madinah Foundation to assist the poor families by sponsoring marriages of their sons and daughters. The entire cost of wedding ceremonies is borne by the Foundation which includes transportation, dowry, food and decorations. The mass marriages function is held once every 3-4 months.
MASS NUTRITION PROGRAM
The Foundation is providing financial assistance in the shape of monthly allowance to widows and handicapped persons. Through our Free Food Program, more than 10,000 people in Faisalabad and Karachi are served cooked food at various designated places three times a day. We also provide ration to about 500 poor persons daily.
This program is also being run at Port Qasim where more than 3000 people being served with freshly cooked food.
GRAVEYARD AND BURIAL SERVICES
The Foundation has constructed a graveyard at Port Qasim where free burial services are provided including free transportation of the dead and his/her close relatives.
With the passage of time the Foundation is expanding the existing programs and adding new projects/programs with the objective to alleviate poverty and social uplift and welfare of the under privileged countrymen.
